-The chance to take over a payroll and benefits department and make it your own. Our client is looking for someone who can upgrade and optimize all of their current processes
Responsibilities
-Full cycle payroll processing and auditing for over 500 salary and hourly based employees
-Manage the payroll process from start to finish including the preparation of payroll reports, computation of payroll taxes, and maintenance of payroll records
-Manage the payroll and benefits team, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
-Research ways to optimize the functionality of the payroll system and recommend updates accordingly.
-Reconcile Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and Employment Insurance (EI) contributions.
-Stay current on payroll and benefits regulations, including provincial and federal laws to ensure compliance
-Manage the overall benefits program, including the oversight of accurate and timely employee changes.
-Coordinate and manage the annual open enrollment meetings.
-Prepare and manage all disability claims.
Qualifications
-5 to 7 years in payroll and benefits administration, including 2+ years in a managerial or leadership role
-CPM Designation
-Strong working knowledge or provincial and federal legislation
-Experience with Payroll software and HRIS systems
-Payworks payroll
-Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing based environment
-Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex payroll and benefits information to employees at all levels
