Responsibilities
Oversees all payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Ensures compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Lead payroll year-end processes
• Lead planned and ad hoc projects focusing on automation, enhancement and integration of payroll into regular business processes.
• Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate accounting of payroll-related expenses.
Qualifications
Post Secondary Education in Human Resources or Business
Ideal to have received Certified Payroll Professional
8+ years payroll experience and 3+ years people management experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Ceridian/Dayforce
Experience in Canadian and US Payroll
Experience with Microsoft Office
