job description

Our client, a leader in public infrastructure, is looking for a Payroll Manager / Senior Payroll Specialist for an immediate opening on their team. This will be a 6 month contract to start, with strong potential for extension and possibility to go permanent for the right candidate.

As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for processing non-union payroll for 500+ employees across Canada, conducting year-end analysis, reconciliation, and reporting, as well as supporting corporate audits in a fairly independent capacity. There are no formal direct reports in this role, so the expectation is that this candidate will be able to own the entire payroll process.

The successful candidate will have 7+ years of experience in high-volume payroll, ideally at a Specialist or higher level, and you must have experience with Ceridian Dayforce. With the submission of your profile to our client, applicants will be required to complete a Microsoft Excel test, proving knowledge of v-lookups and pivot tables.

Advantages
•Opportunity to do incredibly important work within a large government organization with strong investments in employee well-being and diversity & inclusion; this company is also rapidly growing, so this contract-based opportunity is a great position to prove your skill set to the team
•Remote opportunity, with flexibility for remote work once the team returns to the office, located in the Downtown Core and TTC Subway & Streetcar accessible
•Pay to commensurate based on experience
•Immediate turnaround opportunity

Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have the following:

•Minimum 7 years of experience processing high-volume, complex payroll using a Ceridian payroll system (Dayforce preferred)
•Strong understanding of the back-end of Dayforce, ability to recommend process improvement
•Knowledge of current legislative requirements and CRA regulations
•Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage your own timelines and workload
•Organized, detail oriented
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
•Flexibility for overtime as needed for year end, T4, and other projects

We’re excited to connect with profiles that meet the above criteria. Applicants are encouraged to apply directly to this posting or email their resumes to Kristen.halliday@randstad.ca. Please note only qualified candidates will be contacted for next steps.
