A professional services company located next to Union Station (Brookfield Place) is looking for a Payroll and Benefits supervisor to join their team! This is a standalone payroll position processing multi province payroll as follows:

• Processes semi-monthly payroll for salaried, hourly and piece-rate employees
• Prepares manual payroll cheques, as required
• Sets up, updates and terminates employee information within the payroll system
• Reviews time sheets and other pay documents for accuracy, completeness, and authorizations, in accordance with company policies
• Liaises with supervisors and/or managers to clarify discrepancies with timesheets
• Calculates and prepares a variety of payments such as pension and benefits, WorkSafe BC payments, EHT, etc.
• Calculates and processes payroll adjustments such as retroactive pay, termination pay, and special payments
• Reconciles payroll and benefit records to ensure accuracy of reports and remittances
• Reconciles Receiver General, Medical Services Plan, and WorkSafe BC payments
• Assists Controller with resolving problems related to payroll accounts
• Prepares payroll journal entries
• Prepare various monthly and ad hoc payroll reports using the ADP reporting tools for Controller and management teams
• Prepares and issues records of employment
• Tracks pension enrolment eligibility
• Manage pension and benefits plans including enrolment, termination and maintenance
• Liaises with payroll service provider representatives, as required
• Prepares termination information packages which include, the summary of final payment and directions for converting benefits from group to individual plans
• Responds to payroll questions made by employees
• Maintains payroll files
• Reconciles all annual filings such as T4 and EHT returns


This role will offer:

60-70K base

• A minimum of three years’ experience as a payroll and benefits administrator in a mid-sized organization
• Knowledge of various provincial legislation, employment standards, human rights and government sponsored benefits programs
• Experience working with ADP solutions (Work Force Now)
• Detail orientation
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Word
