Are you a Payroll professional with a desire to lead a small team and ready for the next step in your career?

Our client, in York Region, is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to lead and mentor a team of 3 Payroll Clerks and manage their USA payroll (USA payroll preferred but not mandatory)

Key responsibilities will include:

* Direct the collection, calculation and entering of payroll data
* Update payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, job titles and division transfers
* Direct deposit experience
* Calculate federal and state income and social security taxes, unemployment and workers compensation payments
* Resolve payroll discrepancies
* Answer questions and requests on all payroll related matters
* Update and write policies and procedures related to payroll
* Stay on top of all state, federal and local legal requirements
* Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training new employees
* Attend educational workshops to stay current and network within the payroll space

* Preference will be given to those who have proved experience in several States throughout the United States and those who are well versed with USA legislation (401K etc).

The selected professional will have the following:
* Post secondary education - having completed a degree in accounting
* Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preference to USA payroll and deductions is preferred
* Intermediate experience in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
* Supervisory experience is required
