A mid size real estate firm is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their growing Finance team. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for processing accurate and timely administration of payroll and associated benefits. This role will directly report to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250 employees across Canada.
• Review employee expense reports submitted to ensure compliance with company policies
• Provide superior customer service when responding to and resolving employee inquiries
• Work with Office Managers and HR to ensure Time & Attendance system is properly maintained and that the employee records are complete and accurate
• Perform all client legislation changes while auditing risk to the company
• Ensure compliance with government legislation and collective bargaining agreements
• Coordinate year-end payroll process including T4/T4A’s, EHT Annual Return, WSIB, annual total
income/benefit statements, payroll and tax account reconciliations, ROEs, RRSPs, garnishments
• Third party payments for non-compulsory deductions

Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years experience processing full-cycle payroll
• A diploma in Payroll, Accounting or a related field
• Completion or in the process of obtaining Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
• Knowledge of ADP Work Force Now
• Experience with a multi-location environment including experience with hourly and salaried payroll; unionized environment
• Extensive knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA)
• Knowledge of current legislative requirements and CRA regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Proven Accounting knowledge, including account reconciliations and journal entries
• Excellent computer skills including intermediate/advanced proficiency in Excel
