Responsibilities
Production Management:
Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities to meet production targets and schedules.
Monitor and optimize extrusion processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.
Implement quality control measures to maintain product quality standards.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and manage a team of extrusion operators and production staff.
Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement among the staff.
Resource Management:
Manage plant resources, including raw materials, equipment, and manpower, to maximize efficiency.
Develop and manage production budgets, ensuring cost control and cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and equipment breakdowns.
Quality Assurance:
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and industry standards.
Conduct regular quality audits and inspections.
Address and resolve any quality-related issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that safety protocols and regulations are followed rigorously.
Promote a culture of safety awareness and compliance within the plant.
Stay up-to-date with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and increased efficiency.
Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to streamline operations.
Drive initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Communication and Reporting:
Communicate with senior management and other departments regarding plant performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Prepare regular reports on production metrics, KPIs, and operational performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Several years of experience in extrusion manufacturing, with a strong understanding of extrusion processes.
Proven leadership and management experience.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of safety and quality standards and regulations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A Plant Manager in an extrusion facility plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production process. They are responsible for managing both the technical and managerial aspects of the facility to achieve production targets, maintain product quality, and promote a safe working environment.
