The operations manager is responsible for ensuring a smooth post workflow and execution through the post-production departments. You take ownership in managing a team of resources in various departments such as bindery, shipping/receiving/ and inventory control.
You understand the details and processes that go into the post-production processes and lead a team of printing manufacturing specialists to deliver service excellence by meeting or exceeding service standards.

Responsibilities & Deliverables:

Your deliverables will include but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinate post-production activities and resources.
Plans and directs the daily operating activities of the resources in the production plant in accordance with established standards for product quality and operating efficiencies.
Maintain excellence in service delivery and operations within a printing production environment; specifically driving operations within the bindery, shipping/receiving, and inventory control departments.
Maintains product inventory at needed levels.
Plans and makes regular replacement recommendations for equipment, tools and supplies.
Manages the movement of products in and out of the building efficiently.
Maintains effective working relationships with employees and assists with resolving issues as they occur.
Selects, trains and supervises employees to achieve the desired results.
Manages performance by measuring and reporting on post-production activities.
Oversees the health and safety program for the plant and equipment.
Plans and assists in safety meetings.
Assures that safety practices and policies are trained, established and followed in the plant.
Demonstrate a customer-first approach with the ability to balance business needs, labour management, and customer requirements to deliver an optimized experience
Evaluates makes recommendations and assists with driving revenue growth/expense control through the identification and implementation of process improvements and/or new products.
Be seen as a collaborative and credible leader gaining the trust of team, peers and broader leadership team

Required Experience:

Experience delivering products and services to large organizations within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to transform and implement change effectively
Minimum of 5 years of management experience, ideally from a production environment
Experience overseeing Health + Safety programs, building security, as well as Business Continuity Planning
Action-oriented, self-motivated, accountable
Strong communicator with exceptional leadership skills and ability to build rapport across all levels
Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritize based on business needs
Analytical, sound judgement and strong financial acumen
Able to travel as required

Asset: Experience with digital print (Ink-Jet, Hewlett-Packard, Canon printers), in-depth knowledge of all facets of print production, press bindery and graphics, and transactional or security printing.
Track record of introducing new products/revenue generation in a production environment
