Randstad Engineering is seeking a Process Engineer on behalf of our Client, a world-class manufacturer of automotive components based in Southwestern Ontario.

In this position, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all equipment meets or exceeds customer requirements for safety, quality, flexibility and throughput. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop and implement long-term plans for continuous improvement. Additional duties and responsibilities include the following:

•Providing ideas and input related to continuous improvement/cost reduction activities
•Establishing, monitoring, and controlling timeline planning, tooling, and capital budgets
•Preparing presentations for engineering and management teams
Visiting customer/vendor facilities to investigate quality concerns, tooling build processes and buyoffs
•Addressing customer concerns as necessary
•Preparing cycle-time analysis and/or time studies to facilitate line balancing
•Preparing reports, charts, and related documentation for engineering records
•Participating in ISO14001/ISO/TS16949 activities (such as PFMEA/APQP incentives)
•Assisting in the development of material handling logistics
•Providing internal technical support with regards to new equipment and/or processes
•Setting up preventative and predictive maintenance requirements
•Providing product design direction based on part manufacturability

The ideal Candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

•An Engineering Degree/Diploma in a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable work-related experience
•3-5 years of experience specifically related to troubleshooting, repairing, and improving systems within a manufacturing (ideally Automotive) environment
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•The desire to learn and absorb new training/mentoring
