We are seeking a Procurement Coordinator for a 6-7 month contract term with a well established client of ours in the Vancouver area.

Reporting to the Projects Team Lead, the Projects Procurement Coordinator is a key resource within the Projects Team. This position is accountable for the full procurement lifecycle of engineered equipment and services acquired for the execution of our clients Technical projects, which represents $50-75MM annually. Another major component of this role is the administration of the JD Edwards (JDE) Job Cost Module, which encompasses budgets, actuals and forecasts for all operational capital.


Responsibilities:

-Reinforce safety procedures, including participating in LPOs, safety audits and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture
-Coordinate services and engineered equipment purchases related to all Technical projects, including the preparation of service orders (SOs), Purchase Requisitions (PRs), and expediting. Projects Engineering & Procurement (EP) firms will have issued details through company specifications and recommend the best Vendors, selection is approved by the associated Project Manager
-Request bids / quotes for freight and expediting fees related to Technical Projects items quoted through BR Specifications issued by EP firms;
Monitor and update delivery dates in cooperation with the Procurement team,
-Acts as the central point for the coordination of engineered equipment and services between the Project Managers, Project Controls, Construction Reps, construction contractor, Procurement and engineering firms involved in the execution of the refinery’s Technical projects;
-Support Project Managers through change management involving purchase requisitions (PRs) for engineered equipment and service orders (SOs) related to Technical Projects
-Coordinate with Procurement material coordinators for purchase order administration;
-Assist Project Managers and Project Controls during monthly, quarterly and annual reporting;
-Administrate JDE’s Job Cost module by
-Moving budgets (including contingencies) between approved charge codes as requested by budget owners
-Creating Work Orders (WOs) and progressing their status within the Capital Asset Management (CAM) (Maintenance) module as each project develops
-Coordinating change requests to JDE Job settings with the Fixed Asset and Finance teams
-Generating the original monthly forecasts for all newly approved budgets
-Training Project Managers and other JDE Job Cost users on the JDE module’s functionalities.


Qualifications:

-1 -5 years-experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system within a Business Administration, Finance, Procurement or Accounts Payable department.
-Hands-on experience with JD Edwards would be considered an asset. Other relevant work experience will be considered
-Technical Diploma (BCIT or similar), or bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance
-Able to help define and embrace our clients new Project Management Process and tools by providing input related to the Procurement function within project planning and execution
-Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
-Ability to effectively organize work and meet deadlines
-Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision and to develop own tools to fulfill expectations
