Our client, the top bank in Toronto, is hiring a Procurement Manager for a 6-month contract. Long term potential!

Key Accountabilities:
This role involves procuring goods and services in line with the budgets for various internal business clients. The role involves effective relationship management of business clients with focus on Capital Markets and respective external suppliers to ensure service delivery commitments are met.
• Sound understanding of sourcing process and execution methodologies
• Supports the authoring of contract documents as required
• Liaising with suppliers and business clients at various levels ensuring service delivery is met
• Negotiating with suppliers in order to mitigate risk such as IT software/hardware spaces including pricing, services, Data Privacy, Open Source, IP Ownership and Infringement, SLAs
• Management of the end-to-end lifecycle for various RFx events - on as needed basis
• Following market trends and ability to identify, research, and evaluate suppliers that meet the organizations standards of price, quality, timing, service and reliability of supply
• Proactively identify opportunities/initiatives for savings, cost avoidance and risk mitigation

Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
• 3 to 6 years experience with planning, organizing, financial, budgeting and decision-making, in a Procurement context with increasing scope of responsibility
• University degree in logistics, business administration or purchasing or supply chain management
• Preference will be given to candidates with applicable Procurement-related certifications
• Sound ability to draft, interpret, negotiate contractual agreements is mandatory (e.g. MSA, SOW,NDA, amendments, etc)
• Software procurement experience and understanding of software contractual clauses is essential
• Professional Services procurement familiarity and experience is desirable, but not essential
• Experience in a financial institution is ideal (i.e. Capital Markets)
• Strong market awareness
• Familiarity with using Procurement CLM, VMS systems (e.g. Emptoris, iValua, Beeline, etc)
