Are you an experienced Graphic Designer, with a background in print production, in search of your next contract opportunity? Our Coquitlam client is seeking to hire a Production Designer/Artist, on a contract basis with the potential of converting to a permanent full-time position. What will you do?
As a Production Designer/Artist with our Coquitlam client, you will:
• Work closely with Team Leader and Marketing Coordinator in carrying jobs through the project workflow.
• Adhere/contribute to the priorities and timelines of the Marketing department.
• Produce product packaging, promotional flyers, new product announcements, labels.
• Assist in producing special projects/requests in accordance with the creative strategy set by the Team Leader.
• Ensure Corporate branding and production standards are met on a consistent basis.
• Perform basic page layout, typesetting, basic drawing and photo editing.
• Proof collateral produced for accuracy.
• Make files RIP ready, understanding colour printing with correct separations, linked files and applied fonts.
• Work closely with print providers in ensuring print specifications are met on a consistent basis.
• Perform backups and filing completed projects.

How do you qualify?
To qualify for the Production Designer/Artist role with our Coquitlam client, you must have:
• Post-secondary education in Graphic Design or relevant work experience.
• 2-3 years’ graphic design experience in print production.
• 2-3 years’ experience in production and packaging design.
• 2 - 3 years’ print production experience in a pre-press environment.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat) in a Mac environment.
• Strong typographic and layout skills.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
• Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and follow-up skills.
• Flexible and a quick learner.
• Basic digital photography experience an asset.
• Basic understanding of Quebecois French an asset.
