Randstad is currently searching for a Production Manager, Operations for our global manufacturing client located in London, Ontario. Your key responsibility will be to Manage and direct the efficient operation of the Production Departments (OPR) to ensure all internal and external customer requirements are met.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy working in a fully automated facility where world-class technologies combined with creative, continuous improvement and lean manufacturing processes are used to deliver high quality products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• As a key member of the leadership team you will supervise the whole OPR department including team leaders, shift leaders and team members
• Liaison between production control and manufacturing, implementation of CIP Projects
• Conduct regular team meetings and provide meaningful and timely feedback on issues and concerns, active collaboration on KPI improvements
• Work closely with the Operations and coordinate product flow to minimize downtime, scrap and changeovers, while meeting delivery dates
• Analyze collected data and create concepts that are implemented in cooperation with the different departments
• Proficient in all tasks, positions and functions within Production areas in order to train, develop and maintain a strong, engaged operational team
• Responsible for providing clear and specific performance feedback and appraises the effectiveness of employees on their annual developmental review
• Ensure employees know how to perform each job assigned to them in an efficient manner and that they are fully aware of the correct and safe way to operate their equipment
• Full hiring authority for the OPR departments, labor allocation and scheduling
• Confirm work instructions are being followed and results are properly documented
• Interact with Quality in achieving a common goal of 0 PPM and 100% on time delivery
• Experience with following, auditing and implementing ISO policies
• Flexibility to work outside of your normal work hours as needed to support team members and/or area objectives
• Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary education in Operations Management or a production related field from college or university
• 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Silicone Injection Molding manufacturing experience preferred
• Excellent leadership, change management and problem solving skills
• Strong working knowledge of an ERP system
• Positively motivate and engage others and take disciplinary action when necessary
• The ability to work independently, conceptualize project and manage priorities
• Sound judgment, critical thinking skills and ability to make difficult, time sensitive decisions
• Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal communication skills
• Professional attitude with customers, employees, and management
• Strong English proficiency, both written and verbal, working knowledge of MS Office suite
