As a Production Supervisor/Group Manager - you ensure hourly production targets in their area of responsibility are met and must be able to implement immediate and decisive steps to correct deviations that may occur due to resourcing, unexpected machine downtime, or supply deficiencies.
In this role you will…
•Ensures that Safety and Quality standards are met at all times. The Group Manager must lead by example in these categories at all times, unwaveringly.
•Plans and organizes manufacturing operations to determine requirements for manufacturing products as scheduled: planning unionized labour pool allocation, ensuring materials are staged, etc.
•Ensures production targets are met on a daily basis in the area(s) of responsibility.
•Collaborate and work very closely with other Group Managers and support functions (such as Purchasing, Quality or IT) to ensure potential issues are mitigated before they impact safety, quality or production output.
•Removes production constraints to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
•Resolves production and quality issues.
•Maintains and supports a superior housekeeping program.
•Encourages and promotes a continuous improvement environment at all levels of the organization.
•Communicates with other departments regarding product delivery status and requirements.
•Absolute focus on On-Time, Delivered Quality product to our customers.
•Ability to hold their team accountable to the daily production expectations.
•Safety Champion for the department(s).
You are the ideal candidate for this role because you have…
•Some related post - secondary education and or previous management experience in a manufacturing setting.
•Hands on manufacturing experience as well as practical and theoretical experience and knowledge of lean manufacturing process principles.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills along with a sense of urgency and personal accountability.
•Mechanical aptitude as well as basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) would be required.
•Proven ability to drive change (processes, culture) in a unionized environment with a focus on Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
•Detail oriented and able to dive deep to solve problems and issues at the root.
•Ability to be self directed.
