Our client in the education sector is looking to bring on an experienced IT manager to co-coordinate and supervise all activities related to the requirements, procurement, design, development, and implementation of organizational information systems and software applications. Direct and establish IT-related projects both within the department and with otherdepartments. Plan and direct the implementation of new IT systems. Provide leadership to IT specialists and other staff within the organization Troubleshoot data-related issues and establish regular maintenance. Plan, develop, assess, deploy and manage all IT systems and services, security,programs, technology, and support throughout the organization Provide support and guidance to IT department (server and information security,cloud systems and storage, software updates, hardware maintenance, etc.). Supervise and develop a skilled team of IT professionals; participate in internal staffmanagement processes such as performance reviews, supervisory meetings,professional development.Assist in developing and managing a budget for technology, IT services andsupport, and IT staff Conduct capacity planning for network bandwidth, storage requirements,messaging, Web sites, e-commerce security, and other applications. Create status reports as required; present findings to senior management.Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effectiveacquisition of technology purchases; oversee licensing, warranties and serviceagreements.QualificationsMinimum of five (5) years’ experience in overseeing the direction, development andimplementation of software solutions and strategic goals in medium-sizedorganizationWorking knowledge of software development and/or programming design andsystems management in a medium-sized organizationA degree or diploma in Computer Science or equivalent experienceRecent experience in modernizing Application Development and Support teams -from developing staff to implementing processes and modern development/ supporttoolsFamiliarity with O365 suite and experienced with SharePoint.Demonstrated success with project management, project-based/matrix workstructures, project life cycle models, and software development life cycle deliverymethodologiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills to resolve conflict and managecomplex situationsDemonstrated success leading, managing and motivating a team in an open,innovative, responsive and professional environment, including coaching memberstoward achievement of collective and individual goals, and providing ongoingfeedbackExcellent budget management skills, with attention to detailAbility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet deadlinesStrong knowledge of database and database administrationExcellent negotiation, collaboration and problem-solving skills to understandopposing perspectives and adapt the approach as situation requirements changeAbility to adapt to, and work effectively within, a variety of situations, and work withvarious individuals or groups with conflicting priorities or goalsSummaryThe candidate must be able to develop goals and strategies to make sure the IT department runs smoothly, also someone who can take a hands-on approach.
