We are looking to hire a Project Accountant for a a very well establish Architecture firm located downtown Toronto, the role will involve:

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Project Accountant you will:

• Communicate with Project Managers (PM) and Principals-in-Charge (PIC), regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services- related to billing.
• Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities for the billing period and ensure the AP coding to direct/reimbursable agrees with the contract
• Provide the accounts payables team member with advice on client billing, relative to consultant invoicing and reimbursable expenses.
• Work with the cash receipts team member to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash.
• Analyze and prepare sub-Consultant payments based on PWP for the Accounting Directors approval
• Analyze the Profit & Loss accounts monthly, and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned by the Accounting Supervisor.
• Set up new projects, make transfers of employee billable hours and/or expenses, and open and close time classes in company system.
• Write off any uncollectible receivables, labor or expenses, as directed by the PIC.

This role will offer:

60-65K base

• Have successfully completed related post-secondary education equivalent to a college diploma in accounting
• Possess knowledge of Accounting principles and guidelines
• Must have computer skills to produce effective reports, documents, and presentations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Accounting software is required
• Has between 2-5 years of general accounting experience in Architectural/Engineering consulting (would be an ASSET)
• Demonstrates an understanding of inter-related work processes in order to adapt to differing assignments
• Possesses excellent organizational skills and demonstrates an ability to pay close attention to details and to ensure accuracy of work
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
