Description of the mandate:
The project manager is responsible for planning and carrying out projects while acting as a mobilizing leader and ensuring the execution of activities, the resolution of issues and monitoring of project risks. As a member of the ITS project office team, he ensures that the project is managed according to the established project management methodology. The mandate will consist of acting as a senior project manager on several institutional development and software implementation projects as well as institutional governance model implementation projects. These are high complexity change management projects.
Given the experience required for this profile, the candidate will also be called upon to act as a project manager in certain situations and will therefore have to assume a management or leadership role at the decision-making level.
Example of projects to be carried out:
“Timetables and Reservations” project (ongoing project)
The objective of this project is to acquire a state-of-the-art software package that will facilitate the creation of schedules for all teaching activities. In addition, the software package should allow optimal management of the reservations of premises and equipment for the entire university community.
This project aims to replace existing solutions with an institutional software package that will make it possible to reserve resources (rooms, equipment, teachers, etc.) and design schedules by managing various constraints in a more efficient and user-friendly way.
“Sharepoint Governance” project (ongoing project)
This project will consist of setting up a governance process around the services linked to the O365 suite, and more particularly “Sharepoint”. This will involve setting up institutional guidelines for the creation and governance of SharePoint sites on a transitional basis to respond primarily to the needs of units that do not yet have sites.
This project will also target training and support offers for future users of Sharepoint sites.
Finally, the model put in place will serve as a foundation for the continuation of the digital transformation, particularly in terms of the O365 suite.
“Application Management” project (ongoing project)
This project consists of providing a talent acquisition tool that is complete, effective and efficient. In addition to assisting with hiring, the tool should enable data retention and analysis. In addition to integrating with other platforms used, via a gateway. The project will begin with a needs analysis, evaluation of solutions, calls for tenders, implementation and training.
Specified Requirements:
1. Have at least fifteen (15) years of experience in IT project and program management;
2. Have experience in project management in academia;
3. Have led at least (two) IT governance model implementation projects;
4. Have led at least two (2) projects in SCRUM agile project management as a Scrum Master;
5. Have managed at least one (1) project in each of the following IT spheres: A. infrastructure, B. networking, C. telecommunications, D. communications platforms, E. software development F. software implementation. (A single project can combine several of these spheres);
6. Have managed at least one (1) project in agile mode using the JIRA Atlassian tool;
7. Have the experience of setting up at least one (1) project office in a company;
8. Have already managed a team of project managers as an immediate superior.
9. Have assumed the role of project manager in at least two (2) mandates in the field of information technology, the minimum size of which for the project team is 2,000 p-d. and this, during the last five (5) years. These mandates must have been carried out for companies of comparable size to the University of (7,271 staff members).
