Under the supervision of the Purchasing Director, the Purchasing Assistant is responsible for issuing purchase orders for all required ingredients, packaging materials, and other products necessary for various departments. Responsibilities
Assist in purchasing ingredients, packaging materials, and other items required for production and other services throughout the company.
Interact with suppliers, establishing and maintaining cordial and professional relationships.
Validate sales confirmations, terms, delivery dates, and customs documentation, if applicable.
Follow up with suppliers on open purchase orders.
Update item data, including price lists and specifications.
Obtain and maintain all documents and databases related to purchasing categories.
Generate inventory reports for analysis.
Ensure that actions within the role support the manufacturing of products with the quality and food safety standards defined by the company.
Assist the Purchasing Director and cover their duties during vacations.
Perform other related tasks.
Qualifications
Experience in Manufacturing
Ensure that actions within the role support the manufacturing of products with the quality and food safety standards defined by the company.
Ensure compliance with SQF food safety code requirements and report any food safety issues to the authorized personnel.
DEC in Administration, preferably with a focus on procurement and purchasing.
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, and management systems or related fields.
Knowledge of ERP systems and/or inventory systems would be an asset.
