      On behalf of our client Pacific Coast Terminals Ltd. we have been retained to oversee the recruitment process of up to two Mechanical Maintenance Foremen for their Port Moody bulk handling operation. Pacific Coast Terminals is the link between ship and shore for Western Canadian resource companies and their global markets. Trains deliver sulphur, canola, potash and ethylene glycol for shipment to ports around the world. PCT's 43-hectare (108-acre) terminal has the flexibility to load these raw products directly into ships, or to store them temporarily on site. Stored sulphur and potash are automatically sorted by type into windrow piles, while ethylene glycol and canola are held in sealed storage tanks.Advantages-Excellent hourly rate, and comprehensive benefits package.-Unionized position. Responsibilities•Responsible for the direct supervision of the Maintenance of the terminal, including the entire longshore workforce assigned to the Maintenance of equipment used in the movement of Sulphur throughout the terminal.•Ensure longshoremen are working in a safe and competent manner•Ensures the workforce under his supervision is competent and properly trained for the work they are performing.•Maintains contact with maintenance and operations personnel regarding any equipment problems.•Provides support to operations personnel when the terminal is operating.•Maintains working knowledge of all plant equipment used for operations, such as the Sulphur Rotary Dumper, Stakrake, Shiploader, mobile equipment, conveyor systems and the Potash Dumper, Stakrakes, Tank Farm systems and conveyor systems.•Prepares Accident / Incident Investigation Reports for accidents or incidents that occur with the personnel and equipment being supervised.•Maintains contact with personnel on board vessels loading at the terminal to ensure loadings proceed in accordance with proper procedures.•Maintains awareness of the terminal’s Emergency Response Procedures and Safety and Health responsibilities.•Maintains awareness of the Company Environmental Policy and ensures the policy is followed at all times.•Initiates discipline procedures for workers not performing to specified standards, or not working as directed.•Participates in any and all tasks requested to assist the Company in the operation of the Company, within the scope of the Collective Agreement.•Maximize productivity of operationsQualifications•The successful candidate(s) will possess a mechanical maintenance background with solid academic credentials, such as B.C. Trades Qualification Certificate (B.C.T.Q.), C.E.T. or other recognized equivalent provincial Trades or Technical Certification.•The successful candidate(s) will have experience with preventative maintenance principles and systems, and an understanding of materials handling equipment in an automated and computerized environment.•This includes the ability to read, understand, and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings and a familiarity with PM software applications.•As this position will also involve exposure to and work in operations, the successful candidate(s) will possess operational experience in an industrial setting. •Must be capable of demonstrating supervisory skills and have the ability to motivate and direct crews under their immediate supervision in a safe and efficient manner.•The successful candidate(s) will have a strong awareness and demonstrate proficiency with safe work practices. Reporting directly to the on site Plant ManagerThis position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair, maintain and install equipment to support the effective operation of the plant.
