    The position will be a 12-month contract with an opportunity for a longer term.
    Location: Waterloo, ON

    The program focuses on the metrology of optical components. Metrology involves the use of commercial instrumentation, optical metrology tools, and custom metrology tools. The measurement data is critical in supporting program-level decisions and iterating on component design.

    Responsibilities
    Component test and measurement (lab work);
    Collection and formatting of data
    Fixture/tool testing, calibration and maintenance;
    Optical component handling, inspection, and logistics
    Measurement of components
    Collection of and processing of measurement data
    Monitoring of instrument calibration
    Management of component Inventory

    Qualifications
    Education (Degree and field): One of the following: Associate’s degree or advanced diploma; Bachelor degree
    Total years experience: 2 years minimum experience working in a test and measurement environment in a related industry (i.e. semiconductor fabrication, electronic, mechanical, or optical engineering and fabrication, etc.)
    Skills or processes candidates must have to be considered for role : Experience working with measurement instrumentation (electronic, optical) and data collection in engineering or development environment
    Experience developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOP)
    Experience working with optical components, instruments and technologies
    Familiarity with clean room protocols and work environment
    Python programming experience
