job description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer for a high tech manufacturing client of ours in the Victoria area. The successful applicant will assume a key role to proactively prevent failure modes, reduce variation, improve product reliability, monitor quality concerns, initiate continuous improvements, and assist with product launches through risk evaluation and qualification testing.


Responsibilities:

-Support the development of the Quality Management System (QMS)
-Conducting internal audits, supplier qualification and performance evaluation reviews
-Facilitate team-orientated root cause analysis activities, internal and external
-Preparing and reviewing Corrective Action Report (CAR) submissions
-Analyzing data and report results and Developing visual quality standards & standard operating procedures (SOP).
-Lead the development of preventive methodologies:
-Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
-Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) through Gauge R&R and ANOVA process capability studies
-Support the development of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Equipment Validation (IQOQPQ).
-Support New Product Introduction process from R&D into Manufacturing.
-Collaborate with supporting departments & Manufacturing to drive Continuous Process Improvement initiatives including facilitating brainstorming & root cause analysis activities.
-Conduct Reliability Analysis of products before and after launch.
-Conduct Failure Analysis of products before and after launch.
-Timely resolution of customer complaints and supplier non-conformances through corrective actions.
-Support and assist the Quality Assurance Manager through: ISO, customer and regulatory audits & inspections; Preparation of QA reports; and Maintaining the effectiveness of the QMS.


Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Industrial Engineering or equivalent B.Sc.
-Minimum 5 years’ Medical Device or electronics manufacturing experience, with at least 3 years in a quality engineering function;
-ISO 9001, ISO 13485 or GMP experience;
-Strong working skills and experience with statistical software (such as JMP) and MS Office suite;
-Excellent oral and written communications skills;
-Excellent problem-solving skills;
-SQL database development experience is a bonus.
-Demonstrate positive attitude and self-motivation
