TITLE: Quality Assurance Technician / Final Lens Inspector
SHIFT: 2:30 PM-11:00 PM
PAY: $18/hr.

Responsibilities
•-Inspect uncut lenses against cosmetic and optical standards
• Care taken to preserve the condition of new and customer’s own frames. Proper frame alignment
must be maintained
• Mounting side shields and ensuring orders meet CSA standards.
• Thoroughly inspect edged and assembled lenses to ensure meets Hoya standards
• Responsible for basic operation, cleaning and ongoing maintenance of laboratory tools and
equipment using established maintenance procedures and calendars.
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
-Optical background highly preferred
-Technically inclined/ machinery experience is an asset.
-Must be able to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment.
- Experience that requires alpha-numerical recognition, interpretation and execution is an asset.
- Must be well organized, have excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, and have a
heightened sense of urgency.
- Continuous learning is a large part of this position, and therefore ability to retain varying degrees
of information is required (significant use of memory)
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as an individual with minimal supervision.
-Standing, walking, reaching and bending constantly throughout the day.
- Low, moderate and high noise levels (not to exceed standards)
- Work produced is subject to precise measures of quantity and quality.
- Near vision and sharp focus to adjust vision when doing close work.
- Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers. Handling by seizing, holding,
grasping, turning or otherwise working with the hands and fingers.
Occasional lifting/ carrying 10 lbs or less, pushing/ pulling 30 lbs or less.
- Must be living and legally able to work in Canada
