Responsibilities
- Deploy and sustain quality management processes, lead and deploy best practices throughout the local organization to improve the operational processes, improve quality and reduce operating costs.
- Manage our Quality Management System to ensure continued compliance with international certification bodies including ISO across the GTA campus
- Manage site quality team functions including incoming inspection, customer feedback, part inspection, supplier quality assessments, NCR’s, CAR’s, and final test, to ensure the Quality Management Systems goals are attained.
- Assesses and analyzes operational performance to identify and eliminate waste, organize around Lean processes to promote a culture of continuous improvement, attain a high level of customer satisfaction and drive operational excellence.
- Monitors site operational improvement project activities to assure control of milestones, efficiency gains, and cost savings.
- Support and implement results of analysis work and status of CI initiatives.
- Support sessions such as Root Cause analysis, Kaizen activities, Lean workshops, Gemba walks, Daily Management Systems, and training to address operational performance and support achievement of Surpass Operating System objectives where necessary
- Evaluate staff performance and provides appropriate advice, counsel and guidance. Assists in the preparation and conducts timely performance reviews. Ensures that staff receives appropriate training.
- Interface with all site level management to resolve problems and issues that have reached critical level regarding design, quality, etc.
- Provides technical support to marketing, sales and outside customers.
- Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or method.
- Lead Kaizen and other Lean events in various areas of the operation where appropriate
- Improve and leverage quality practices, diagnose system and process capability of local operations and lead improvements. Conduct and champion quality training and internal audits within the local site.
- Drive process improvements to reduce variability, reduce costs, support customers, etc.
- Perform other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or manufacturing engineering, or closely related field
- Effective communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 5 years’ progressive experience in any job titles with duties involving quality assurance systems in a manufacturing environment
