The position must be the secondary or primary customer contact on all projects to help maintain and improve customer relations.
Internally, the Quality Manager interacts with all staff from all departments.
External contacts consist of customers, suppliers, PWO AG and sister companies.
The incumbent manages the work of others and makes decisions regarding quality, purchases, expenses, human resources, and remuneration within the department.

Responsibilities
1. Manages all staff within the Quality Management department to ensure work and project completion.
2. Meets all customer demands on time while ensuring quality.
3. Ensures the department follows the annual business plan.
4. Monitors the annual budget for the department.
5. Initiates cost-saving projects.
6. Controls subcontractors to ensure quality.
7. Responsible for the hiring, training, evaluation and discipline of all staff within the department.
8. Handles internal/external complaints regarding quality requirements for customers. Ensures a high
level of customer service by developing a rapport with customers.
9. Manages corrective action teams determining the root cause of problems and establishing temporary
and permanent corrective actions.
10. Leads the Layered Process audit program and performs activities to maintain IATF16949 certification
related to the Quality Management System (QMS).
11. Prepares and reports out on Quality KPI’s for Management Review and taking meeting minutes.
12. Reviews customer scorecards on portals. Develops corrective action if targets are not met.
13. Ensures all non-conforming material and/or products are disposed in a timely manner.
14. Supplies customers with specific documentation as required in a timely manner.
15. Efficient use of electronic data collection software.
16. Performs all duties within the 5S standards.
17. Following and performing the instructions as listed in the Work Area Reference Manual(s) applicable
to the department.
18. Responsible for working safely, complying with safety policies and procedures, and wearing personal
protective equipment (PPE) required in the designated areas as per company policy.
19. Responsible for working safely and keeping a safe work area for themselves and fellow employees.
20. Manages the work performed and work area to comply with all safety requirements for all staff.
Manages and coordinates the corrective measures for all unsafe work conditions and personal
injuries for all staff.
Qualifications
Education: A post-secondary degree in Business Management or Engineering with some additional education in Quality Management is required. ASQ certification is a definite asset.
Knowledge and Skills: The position must have an excellent understanding of inspection methods and procedures and quality standards. The incumbent must be able to use measuring equipment, micrometers, venires and height gauges. The incumbent must be able to read blueprints and schematics, and have an understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances. An ability to use Microsoft Office and MRP system is a must. Management skills such as delegation, problem solving, organization, leadership, time management and interpersonal skills are required.
Communication Skills: Organized, calm disposition and strong communication skills to interact with customers, co-workers and subordinates.
Nature and Length of Experience: At least five years experience in a similar job and manufacturing environment is preferred.
