Our client in the Brantford area, a food manufacturer, has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Quality Supervisor/Specialist to join their team! As a Quality Supervisor/Specialist, you would guarantee that the production unit operates in the respect of quality standards respecting product features determined by the Quality Requirements.

In this role, responsibilities would include:
•Applies the product quality requirements, using the corporate information system.
•Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Product Quality Specialists. Ensure that all Product Quality Specialists are trained on related procedures and operate in compliance with the work instructions and operative procedures.
•Generate ideas for a continuous improvement and implement related actions.
•Issues, distributes and keeps updated the quality instructions and related forms.
•Support the FS pillar in the risk analysis evaluation and implementation of pre-requisite programs, HACCP, certifications and any other regulatory compliance need.
•Regularly supervises auto-control activities performed by operators on the production line.
•Review full control activities from the quality systems routinely.
•Promptly provides support to the production department, in case of anomalies identified along the process or in case of quality issues.
•Executes and evaluates risk assessments, considering additional sampling and or unique controls where deemed necessary to ensure process control.
•Ensure the execution of controls and /or extraordinary sampling on finished goods with reference to specific issues. In case of issues or anomalies, work with the team to determine and implement corrective actions.
•Ensure results are recorded in company reports and forms
•Work with all departments to pursue ongoing quality improvement.
•Periodically verify the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality management systems by establishing, implementing, coordinating verification and validation activities.
•Plans, organizes, provides and assesses effectiveness for training activities on various quality topics.
•Supports operators to verify that the auto-control activities are put in place correctly. Provides operators with all the necessary training gaps identified in the production unit to ensure competencies.
•Participate in taste sessions to ensure product conformance.
•Ensure the Product Quality Specialists are trained for Health and Safety as well as Environmental aspects.
•Assist in the implementation of and conformance to the Environmental & Energy Management Systems within key process areas.

As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
•5+ years of experience as Quality Supervisor in a food manufacturing environment.
•5+ years of experience in leadership role, managing people.
•Knowledge of raw materials, packaging components, production processes from manufacturing to packaging
•Knowledge of Department Quality specifications, oPRP, CCP’s
•Educational background in Quality Engineering, Food Safety/Microbiology/Food Science or related field
•Knowledge of Quality and Food Safety processes
•Knowledge of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000
•Previous experience working with SAP would be considered an asset
•Internal auditing experience is an asset
•Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
•Strong communication skills
