Responsibilities
•Departmental direct reports = Quality Team Lead, Calibration Tech, CMM Programmer, Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality Engineers, PPAP Coordinator
•Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and resolves all matters pertaining to quality
•Ensures compliance to IATF and internal quality systems
•Assumes a leadership role through recruitment, coaching, mentoring, and training of the quality department
•Actively participates in APQP process for purposes of ensuring quality requirements are completed for new program launches
•Leads team to development methodologies which promote continual improvement activities
•Conduct Root cause analysis and problem solving - as Fishbone, 5 Why, Deep drill or customer specific tools; Maintain and Audit 5s standards
•Reviews customer scorecards, analyzes performance and with a cross functional team and works towards improving deficient areas
•Audit’s quality system performance to ensure quality system framework is effectively implemented and standardized across the Plant.
•Addresses issues driving high cost of quality and works on continual sustainable reduction of such costs
•Applies statistical tools for data collection and analysis to evaluate processes and process changes
•Communicates to management team significant issues/findings identified during quality assurance activities and recommends proposed solutions
•Assists in tracking KPI's (PPM, Scrap %, IPM, Sorting $, Cost of Expedites for Quality)
•Receive and respond to high level customer concern and Initiate containment
•As an EMS core team member, establishes, implements and maintains EMS/ISO 14001 procedures and WIs to ensure alignment with EMS requirements, policy, procedures and understand impacts and aspects of environmental management,
Qualifications
•Post-secondary education in Engineering (mechanical/manufacturing)
•ASQ certification coupled with Lead Auditor experience
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a quality management position preferably within automotive manufacturing sector
•Thorough knowledge of IATF 16949 automotive quality management standards
•Practical knowledge of GD&T, metrology, lean manufacturing principles and well as problem solving tools such as Six Sigma, Shainin (RedX)
•Experienced with measurement techniques and instruments
•Prior experience interpreting CMM reports (PCDMIS)
•Applied knowledge of quality principles and tools such as APQP, FMEA, control plans, corrective actions, statistical data collection and trend analysis
•Advanced skillset in MS PowerPoint and demonstrated ability to deliver presentations professionally
•Ability to travel internationally (up to 5%)
