Responsibilities
• Uses various measuring instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, hardness durometers, pi tapes, height gauges, indicators, and a portable CMM for inspection and testing verifying product conformance.
• Inspection of incoming/received goods, first article inspections, in-process and final inspections.
• Prepares/maintains/reviews and issues documented information Examples include customer-requested inspection reports, material test reports, and certificates of compliance.
• Material Testing, including mechanical tensile testing, hardness testing, x-ray testing, impact testing, swell testing, and compression testing.
• Issues and follows up on nonconformance and closing out corrective actions.
• May perform the calibration of measurement gauges and Non-destructive Ultrasonic and Liquid Penetrant Inspections.
Qualifications
• 2 years of practical work experience in a Manufacturing or Machining environment
• Experience using measurement gauges and being able to select gages according to the feature or characteristic to be measured based on specified tolerances.
• 1 year of work experience in Supplier Quality (preferred).
• ASQC Certified Quality Inspector, Materials or Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist Diploma an asset.
