In the position of a Yard Operator you would be eventually using a Gantry Crane to manage the workflow of production and daily shipments from your individual stations. You will interact with our drivers to determine needs, sizing, and placement of materials, or orders onto and off of trailers, trucks and distribute around our yard. There is a well-designed training program in place for you so if you are just learning, we can help. You will be operating a Gantry Crane to move heavier items onto bending and cutting machines and specific metrics requested by our customers. There is so much growth potential with this position so if you are someone hard-working who wants to learn, we have a job for you!
Shift Time: Day Shift = 6:00AM - 2:00PM Monday to Friday
Afternoon Shift = 2:00PM TO 12:00AM 4 x 10-hour shifts Monday to Thursday
Wage: up to $30+/hour base on experience
Location(s): Abbotsford and Richmond, BC

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Gantry Crane, and safe handling of steel products
- Communicate with fellow teammates to ensure a collaborative and safe environment
- Unload rebar using the overhead crane and navigate it to the proper area
- Load cut and shaped rebar onto the trailers for distribution
- You may be required to lift and move the rebar by hand when required and provide additional support to production employees
- Assist with warehouse duties such as picking and pallet packing when needed
- Work closely with a team to ensure are ready or transport by deadline given
Qualifications
- Recent experience with or ability to learn the Gantry Crane operation
- Comfortable loading and unloading trucks in a bay area multiple times a day
- Ability to lift 50lbs unassisted as needed
- Strong communication skills + a collaborative mindset
- Safety-conscious mindset and basic math skills
- Must have your own transportation to Richmond location as there is no public transit available
- Are able to work in the Richmond or Abbotsford BC area upon applying!
