Randstad Engineering is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic on behalf of our Client, a provider of refrigerated storage, blast freezing, tempering, and logistics services with over 15 years of presence in Southwestern Ontario.

Expected duties and responsibilities include the following:

•Diagnosis of complex mechanical, refrigerant, and electrical problems related to all cooler/refrigeration systems, including cooling, heating and on board computer modules.
•Performing repairs and diagnostics on starting and charging system, complex cooling and re-charge, and electrical. Repairs include performing leak detection procedures, compressor replacements, rebuilding throttling valves, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements.
•Identifying and obtaining necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
•Must be consistently capable of independently analyzing and safely resolving problems.
•Responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of refrigeration units. Conducts general and non-scheduled maintenance, including inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing components and systems.
•Monitoring and adjusting refrigeration systems to provide a safe efficient process through use of refrigeration maintenance systems.
•Performing PM’s on refrigeration equipment as required.
•Ensuring all equipment meets standards, codes and regulatory requirements.

The incumbent Candidate must possess the following qualifications/attributes:

Minimum 3 years experience involving maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of freon-based refrigeration systems
An understanding of HACCP requirements/previous experience working in a HACCP-certified environment
Completion of a 3- or 4-year apprenticeship program as a Refrigeration Mechanic
