Randstad is looking for a retail store manager for a well-established client in the home renovation industry.

We are looking for a results driven retail individual to be responsible for the overall store management based in Victoria, BC. The successful candidate will be able to enhance customer satisfaction, meet sales and profitability goals and manage staff effectively. Candidates will have the most success if they have a strong background in retail building supplies management, employee recruitment and financial planning.

Job duties and responsibilities:

* Develop business strategies to raise our customer base, expand store traffic, and optimize profitability
* Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to sales staff
* Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
* Maintain inventory by implementing purchasing plans and staying in contact with vendors and shippers
* Develop a schedule of promotions throughout the year strategically designed to increase revenue
* Work with vendors and manufacturers to bring in effective marketing displays for the sales floor
* Provide training to improve the knowledge base of the staff and utilize cross-training methods to maintain productivity when employees are absent
* Report on buying trends, customer needs etc.
*Store merchandising and inventory control
* Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and build career paths
* Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc.)

Responsible for maintaining profit margins, setting/monitoring price level discounts and store pricing signage.


The skills you bring:


*You have 5-7 years or more of retail building supply management and leadership experience
* An enthusiastic and confident personality and can effectively motivate a team
*You know how to organize people and capitalize on their strengths
*You lead through creativity – drive – communication skills – relationship building skills – flexibility.
