Responsibilities
Key deliverables to be performed by the Business Intelligence Specialist role include, but are not limited to, the following:
Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts.
Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives.
Develop presentations for various audiences, as required.
Work with the business and IT areas to complete any activities required to accomplish above and other deliverables as required during the assignment.
Transfer skills and knowledge to selected OPS staff.
Qualifications
· Demonstrates business analysis experience in an environment where Oracle, Informatica and Cognos are used together for data warehousing and business intelligence.
· Experience working with data warehouse systems and understanding the design and concepts of it.
· Demonstrates experience creating complex SQL scripting for data analysis and profiling
· Demonstrates experience designing and developing BI Reports, Dashboards and other Business Intelligence solutions using Cognos 10 or higher and Microsoft Power BI
· Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (E.g., missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data)
· Demonstrates strong MS Excel skills, including working knowledge of Power Query, Pivot Tables
· Demonstrated experience advising on existing data sets, models, and transformations to enhance business intelligence reporting
· Experience gathering and eliciting requirements for BI application (Cognos and Power BI)
· Experience with systems design and development, and related methods, techniques, practices, and standards.
