This is a contract position for a Applications Architect for our client who is in the Broader Public Sector. Work location will be in the North York.
This is a Hybrid Role with 2-3 days in the office a week at the descretion of the Hiring Manager.

Responsibilities
• oversee, review and provide technical guidance on the design, supported solutions and IT solutions to meet Ontario and Government Standards, on specific platforms:
o analyze technology environment
o analyze enterprise specifics
o analyze requirements
o set collaboration framework
o create a solution prototype
o participate in technology selection
o solution development control
o produce design documentation for internal governance
o incorporate security requirements into the design, understand and comply with security standards and policies
• develop and apply industry best practice technology, design and methodology approaches to system architecture design
• recommend appropriate technology solutions to meet client needs
• ensure the development team adheres to organizational reference architecture, development frameworks and design patterns
• support leadership team in developing strategic plans and roadmaps based on key business drivers
• research and recommend new emerging technologies, techniques and tools that help achieve strategic goals
• drive solutions to have architecture current state, future state and transition plans agreed, documented and implemented
• provide project management support and working with project teams to ensure software solutions are evolved in alignment with industry best practices and technologies
• provide expert technical knowledge and expertise to contribute to the development policies, procedures and the formulation of a robust and scalable Architecture
• ensure that all future solution architecture provided align to the overall Enterprise-wide platform architecture
• establish development standards and design templates and provide direction and guidance to Solution Developers
• based on the specific platform, contribute to the identification and selection of software, technology and IT infrastructure, with a focus on delivering cloud-based solutions
• ensure compliance to processes and procedures identified by Cyber Security, i.e. GO-ITS 25.0
• lead one or more technical innovation tracks to assess and realize the potential of the technologies under focus (e.g. business potential of Micro services Architecture | Service Oriented Architecture | DevOps)
• plan and execute innovation projects through various stages: Explore, Prototype, Pilot, Full Rollout
• effectively communicate and socialize the innovation outcomes to achieve client / industry connect
• mentor and manage technical team members to enable deep specialization and to ensure high speed innovation
Qualifications
7-10 years of experience as an Applications Architect in a public sector environment or large (greater than 1000 users) business and I&IT transformation project(s).
• Knowledge and experience in relevant software (Cúram )
• Understanding of the processes and step involved in using/leveraging the architecture models in the specification of functional requirements and non-functional requirements as inputs to the implementation process
• Experience as a technical lead, providing hands-on support to other developers
