Responsibilities
Lead Testing and Quality Assurance
• Lead and assist the Testing and Quality Assurance activities in reviewing, developing and executing test plans for latest releases of software patches and firmware upgrades.
• Assist with performance of Business Function Testing, Business Acceptance Testing, Production Acceptance Testing.
• Interface between the testing environments and configure the systems as per Vendor and HSC specifications.
• Configure testing environments as per Vendor and HSC specifications.
Provide project team with advice
• Provide project team with expert advice on a large variety of complex testing and related issues.
• Provide advice/troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
• Provide advice where necessary, conduct manual testing of the system to supplement/validate the automated test results.
• Report findings of tests.
• Compile, summarize and report findings from automated and manual tests.
• Pre-Production testing.
• Develop and execute automated end-to-end pre-production test suites.
• Develop and execute testing checklists and ensure that the checklists are completed as required through various stages of testing and that the checklists are incorporated into the production readiness checklist.
Integration of testing with Support Model
• Ensure appropriate Testing and Quality Assurance for the provincial CAD system along with the EMSTIF servers under standard IT Service Delivery and Support Model in use within Public Safety Delivery.
Responsibilities
• Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing. Plans and organizes testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
• The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for the development of test plans, test scripts and test cases and executing these against the various components. The tester will work with the testing lead and IT lead of each project as well as the project team members in the analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of the required systems.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
Experience in Public Safety environment, such as ambulance, fire or police
Experienced in Manual testing
10+ years of experience in developing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, test cases and troubleshooting technical issues
Experience with performing different types of testing, including unit testing, business function testing, business acceptance testing, production acceptance testing, integration testing, performance testing, regression testing, load testing, security testing, etc
Experience with testing in-house development solutions and COTS
