Responsibilities
SCOPE:
The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) requires a Senior Software Developer – ETL with 9 + years’ experience to perform data migration activities from existing OPGT legacy applications to the new Dynamics 365 OPGT solution and data warehouse.
DELIVERABLES:
• As a member of the data migration team, responsible for tasks to migrate the data from the existing OPGT legacy applications to new Dynamics 365 OPGT solution.
• As a member of the data migration team, responsible for tasks to migrate the data from the existing OPGT legacy applications to new data warehouse.
• Provide strong technical knowledge and business subject matter expertise across a wide range of database technologies, with a primary focus on SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL Database.
• Provide knowledge transfer to the business and other IT resources, and maintaining documentation
The Vendor’s Personnel will also be required to:
• Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned deadlines;
• Notify the Cluster/Ministry project Manager in writing of any issues or other material concerns related to the Assignment Deliverables, as soon as the he/she becomes aware of them;
• Submit Deliverables for the Cluster/Ministry approval as they are completed,
• Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry security procedures and practices;
• Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry architecture/technology standards and best practices;
• Comply with the Ontario Government and the Cluster/Ministry Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Guidelines;
• Provide knowledge and skill transfer to a designated Cluster/Ministry staff; and
• Comply with the Ontario Government I&IT Directive, Operational Policy on the I&IT Project Gateway Process, and other applicable Guidelines, Standards and Procedures.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of proven working experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL Databases
• Expert proficiency with data manipulation languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL), data definition languages, physical database design, data modeling, query performance analysis & tuning
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, Azure data management tools, data modeling tools (preferably, ERWIN), DevOps
• Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C#, etc.)
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• 5+ years of proven working experience with SQL Server, Oracle, Azure SQL Databases
• Expert knowledge and experience with data manipulation languages (T-SQL, PL/SQL), data definition languages, physical database design, data modeling, query performance analysis & tuning
• Experience with SQL Server Management Studio, Azure data management tools, data modeling tools (preferably, ERWIN), DevOps, Synapse Studio
• Experience with at least one programming language (C#, Python, Java, etc.)
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Synapse Link for SQL
• Experience with data warehousing technologies such as snowflake
• Familiarity with Azure cloud platform
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice to have:
• Azure Databricks
• Power Platform (in particular, Power BI), Dynamics 365
• DevOps CI/CD experience
