Responsibilities
Bring expert knowledge of standards-based secure web services and third-party testing tools such as ReadyAPI and SoapUI to bear on connecting to and verifying/troubleshooting Java EE-based API functionality, security, data, and transactional integrity.
Provide relationship management and hands-on second-level support to internal & external Ministry partners during testing, implementation, and post-implementation phases of new API gateway rollout and ReST enablement.
Fulfill the role of subject matter expert regarding: functionality, configuration, and use of the Ministry API gateway platform (IBM API Connect)access to, function, and use of the OBR Partner Portal, usage and behavior of all SOAP-based and ReST-based OBR web services (APIs).
Provide proactive support to the internal GSIC team and to GSIC clients through clear and effective communication, including: providing expert feedback in project and/or operational working sessions, clearly and comprehensively documenting any identified system issues for resolution as part of standard incident management process executing system demo and/or knowledge transfer sessions, when requested
Participate in use-case analysis and understand high-level system design/data requirements for the purpose of providing effective business user support.
Provide input to project plans as requested through task identification, prioritization, and estimation. Identify project issues and risks proactively with project manager.
Complete work and achieve milestones within the assigned timelines.
Qualifications
Extensive experience with web-based transactional systems and standards-based web service technologies in an n-tier Java EE server environment, including XML, SOAP, WSDL, and ReST, ideally in the context of occupational and/or business registry systems.
In-depth experience working with IBM API Connect gateway platform (or similar technology) as well as with PKI, standards-based certificates (X.509) and OpenID Connect (OIDC); excellent understanding of secure-by-design concepts.
Experience using HP ALM/JIRA and CI/CD tools & processes such as Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Ant and related tools, IBM UrbanCode Deploy (UCD) an asset
