Responsibilities
Supports Client’s wide-ranging business information requirements, implementing and supporting business intelligence software solutions
Develops and supports customized query applications which analyze key business data
Develops and supports guided analysis and drill-down functionality, routine scheduling and notification of report generation, and effective implementation of “opportunity” and “key-trend” alerts
Provides Clients with approach options and tools for managing business-related data in a manner that assists in quantitative analysis of progress and the relationship between operational actions and their effect on business objectives
Conduct workshops and requirements-gathering sessions with clients on BI & Data Analytics Initiative
Conduct data integration, data cleansing, data modeling and analytics
Develop feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
Qualifications
Experience with analyzing data in source systems to identify data cleanliness issues (e.g. missing values, duplicate meanings, and invalid data)
Experience with developing feedback processes to fix corrupt data in the source systems
Experience with developing data extraction, transformation, and load programs (daily and initial load) functionality on a wide range of data repositories (structured and semi-structured files, relational and multi-dimensional data stores)
Experience with developing, implementing and maintaining schedule/dependency logic for Extract Transform Load (ETL) scripts
Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
Experience with developing automation extraction, cleansing and load scripts
Experience designing visual dashboards to highlight trends and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and developing canned reports (scheduled and ad-hoc)
Proven troubleshooting and analytical experience
Experience in process decomposition/mapping and business process re-engineering and complex data models using UML.
Experience in the use of development tools and business re-engineering software
Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. business, logical, and physical models) based on Enterprise Application Processes and Modeling methodology and guidelines
Experience with the Microsoft suite of technology including: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI
Experience with data modeling and design principles for data marts and data warehouses
Knowledge and experience in developing data analysis applications
Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
Ability to provide expert advice in developing and integrating process and information models to enable identifying and eliminating redundant business processes
Experience with developing monitoring and error notification processes to ensure data is updated as designed
Hands on experience working with stakeholders to develop and document interface specifications design between Business Intelligence solutions and external applications
Extensive experience with conceptual, logical and physical data modelling tools like Power Designer, and Visio
Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
