Responsibilities
•Advancing the work items identified by the Sr. Project Manager.
• Contribute to the development project plans that identify resource, time, and budgetary needs.
• Contribute to project meetings with team, managers, and stakeholders.
• Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members.
• Meet deadlines assigned by the Sr. Project Manager and deliver quality outputs.
• Track project milestones and assist in project acceptance.
• Lead work as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with the client representatives and in partnership with other project managers to develop coordinated approaches/ solutions.
• Supporting the PSRN Program by proactively identifying, communicating, and managing multi-faceted client-facing risks and issues to deliver a superior customer service experience and to support efficient and effective project delivery.
• Interacting directly with ministry clients, business partners, and project team members to develop and maintain strong ongoing relationships, always looking for opportunities to improve client satisfaction.
• Contributing to the development, and presentation, of ministry-specific dashboards, reports, and other project management materials.
• Proactively identifying risks and issues pertaining to the assigned work package, developing mitigation options in coordination with the Sr. Project Manager, and presenting these to the overall Project Champions and the Portfolio Team.
• Establishing trust with vendors, stakeholders, and peer groups across ministries through effective relationship management.
• Creating or supporting the development/ updating of project artifacts, associated documentation, Briefing Notes, Change Requests, Contracts, Request for Bid (RFBs), etc.
• Ensuring project implementation plans have no adverse impact to public safety operations.
• Contributing towards the financial management of project as necessary or if needed.
• Contributing to the development of complex network implementation and or transition and migration strategies with cross stream dependencies including vendor activities.
• Developing and implementing network implementation and or transition plans.
• Managing large-scale, complex, integrated project plans.
• Mentoring junior staff.
• In-depth knowledge of, and direct experience applying, fundamental project management tools, techniques, and methodologies to large-scale, complex, high-value projects.
• Leadership aptitude: able to operate tactically and strategically, building relationships within the team and with key stakeholders.
• Knowledge of radio and/or telecommunications systems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Problem solver: ability to quickly identify and analyze risks, issues, and problems, develop mitigation options and make appropriate recommendations for resolution.
• Experience facilitating effective meetings; creating and maintaining associated documents including minutes, action items, RACI charts, risk logs, critical path, etc.
• Superior consultation, negotiation, and relationship management skills; able to create a positive team environment.
• Proficiency in creating and managing project schedules using MS Project and Excel, developing/ assessing process flows, Visio, and establishing/ reviewing/ updating key performance indicators (KPIs).
• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
• At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in managing or contributing to the advancement of large scale public
Qualifications
Must haves:
In-depth knowledge of, and direct experience applying all phases (concept, definition, planning, implementation, and closeout) of advanced project management concepts, practices, and procedures to a large-scale, complex, high-value projects in order to meet critical timelines.
A team player with the ability to lead multiple tasks, act independently, support the Sr. PM on the file, and empower junior staff.
Strong experience working on/in public safety radio and/ or the telecommunications field.
Ability to proactively identify risks, issues, or problems, gather relevant information, perform analysis, develop options and recommendations; and build reports to support decision-making on project scope, schedule, cost, etc.
