Our client in Toronto is looking to add a Safety Engineering Manager to their team! This is a renewable 6 month contract position with a stable, international organization.

What you would be doing…
•Planning and implementing of all safety management activities within scope of work
•Managing the Safety Engineering team, ensuring that the safety processes are followed, and the execution of safety activities for projects/product
•Monitoring performance against budget and schedule, metrics collection, weekly and monthly reporting
•Preparing and approving safety plans
•Supervising safety engineering activities throughout the system life cycle and ensuring safety activities are well integrated and aligned with the engineering plans, activities and artifacts
•Organizing safety reviews to ensure system/subsystem design specifications correctly implement the safety requirements and safety design principles
•Establishing effective safety case strategies and monitor the status of safety case dependencies
•Reviewing of Safety Risk, Safety Hazard and Pending Hazard CRs to ensure consistent and thorough assessment and analysis by safety specialists, and to ensure safety defects with broader implications are cloned and managed correctly

What you bring…
•B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
•6+ years of train control experience and/or automatic control within another relevant industry (ie. aircraft industry)
•5+ years of managerial experience
•Extensive experience with safety standards (MIL, CENELEC, IEC, IEEE), best practices safety methods and techniques (PHA, SHA, OSHA, FTA, FMEA/FMECA, HAZOP, HZL)
