We are seeking a Sales Engineer with a Chemical Engineering background for a small but successful and well established clean tech client of ours.
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage the sales-funnel: develop sales strategies, work out details of the marketing plan including strategies for improving sales KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
- Generate leads through targeted outbound prospecting: schedule web demos, surveys, perform sales presentations in a professional manner with action activity levels 10 - 40 calls per day
- Organize website, advertising, news-letter, sales documentation, manage online sales/promotion platforms, email blasts and trade shows
- Follow up on new leads in a timely and professional manner: analyze client’s often complex technical needs, with an understanding of their process and operations. Communicate professionally direct with customers at highest management levels: plant managers, environmental managers and technical managers including large top-500 world leading companies.

- Maintain training materials for our sales/service network worldwide
- Reporting on sales metrics: managing the sales administration process with detailed and accurate sales activity information to your manager. Track and input all activity in CRM; maintain accurate records of sales calls, prospect interactions, client files and sales activity information
- Create comprehensive proposals: quotations for industrial systems usually ranging from $200,000.00 to $2,000,000.00 and quotations include the lease with maintenance. Perfection is required of all technical, commercial and legal details
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of product line: remain knowledgeable and up-to-date on all product features, application know-how, industry changes and competitive landscape, including full understanding of latest developments in product industry
- Assisting R&D with new product ideas and application know-how
- Study internal: literature/patents, odor control/testing technologies, process technologies
- Study external: sales/marketing and business management
Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience selling industrial equipment (preferably Air Pollution Control) to process industries in a similar Sales role.
- Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering is a must.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer relations and interpersonal skills
- Ability to define customer specifications and needs in order to specify and quote an engineered system
- Proven sense of urgency towards customer service and business development
- After a period of inside sales, willing to travel 20% up to 50% of your time and visit customers economy+ class (usually 2-4 days, sometimes 1 or 2 weeks) for sales, pilot testing and trade shows
- Excellent command of MS Office products incl. MS-Access.
- Professional and fluent English communicating skills in writing, speaking and understanding. Spanish is an asset.
- Ambitious and enthusiastic professional attitude, willing to learn and study to be successful and make promotion to a management position
