Responsibilities
This role is responsible for conducting sprint and deployment planning for four data product
development pods comprising a product owner, data analyst, developer, data engineer, and user
support analyst. Development efforts use cloud-based technologies to deliver data, dashboard, and
analytics products to the Finance department at Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Organize sprint planning meetings, which include reviewing the product backlog and
collaborating with the product owners and the pods to identify user stories to be included in the
next sprint
Conduct sprint review meetings to review the scope and functionality delivered in the previous
sprint
Organize sprint retrospectives with the pods to improve processes and techniques continuously
Establish scrum workflows and guidelines and ensure the team follows those practices, ensuring
team members are focused by facilitating consensus
Hold daily scrum meetings if required, to enable the pods to synchronize work
Communicate issues and roadblocks to the product owner, detect issues, draft impact analysis,
and propose and implement the resolution
Assist the product owner in maintaining the product backlog
Assist the deployment team in planning for training and user activities as sprints and
development efforts near completion for a product build or enhancement
Provide status updates for sponsors on a bi-weekly basis
Encourage the timely completion of tasks in a timely manner and ensure development targets
are achieved in each sprint
Maintain an exceptional level of customer focus centered on integrity and transparency
Look ahead to future sprints, to anticipate progress and challenges, with a future-oriented
perspective
Manage scrum activities within Jira and coordinate teams to update Jira as required
Work with managers to maintain Epics/Stories/Tasks within Jira
Act as the subject matter expert for the Scrum process and configuration within Jira, providing
guidance and continuous improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technology or analytics related field and Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
7+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
5+ years of experience working with Jira
Retail industry experience, preferably in Finance and data products
Strong analytical skills, as well as the ability to multi-task across multiple products and pods
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience working with dynamic, highly collaborative teams, requiring close consultation and
coordination
Experience with resolution of roadblocks and issues relating to data and analytics products
Experience using scrum / agile tools, Sharepoint, and MS Office applications
Service-focused with attention to detail and stakeholder needs
