    Attention Senior Accounting Consultants! We have an excellent opportunity with a medium sized insurance company, you will provide support on the IFRS 17 implementation.

    This is a 12 month engagement with a small team, the successful candidate will have the ability to extend or even join the company on a permanent basis!

    Responsibilities

    -Candidates should have strong project management abilities, including the ability to manage client expectations and deliverables, are needed to carry out the delivery of accounting advice engagements under IFRS and assume responsibility of the engagements from beginning to end.
    -Carrying out accounting advice engagements in accordance with IFRS and taking control of the engagements from start to completion, which will include good project management abilities, including managing client deliverables and expectations.
    - Stay up to date on relevant and expanding financial reporting standards, securities and regulatory requirements, and emerging accounting/business concerns.
    - Assist customers with a wide range of financial reporting duties, such as financial statement preparation, working paper creation, and liaison with clients' auditors.
    - Create solutions that are fit-for-purpose by learning about your clients' preferences and business restrictions.

    Qualifications

    - Candidates should have a Postsecondary degree in the relevant field and/or a CPA or CA (or recognised national accounting designation).
    - Exhibited analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a drive to improve technical knowledge by investigating and examining accounting standards.
    - Understanding of the two new insurance standards, IFRS 9 for financial instruments and IFRS 17 for insurance contracts.
    - Work experience in the financial services or insurance sectors.
    - Excellent project management abilities, including the capacity to manage conflicting requests while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

    Summary
    Compensation: 60+/hour depending on experience
    Duration: 10 months
    Location: Downtown Toronto - Work from home
