Responsibilities
Perform month-end closing and journal entry preparation.
Maintain balance sheet reconciliations for accurate asset and liability representation.
Create financial statement working papers, conduct analysis, and provide commentary.
Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and business enhancements through analysis.
Coordinate financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP and budget assumptions.
Develop efficient processes and systems for managing financial information.
Prepare variance analysis and investigate discrepancies, delivering accurate internal financial reports.
Generate external financial reports as required by stakeholders and collaborate with business units to meet reporting needs.
Qualifications
Minimum experience of three years at a Big 4 firm
Budgeting and forecasting experience would be an asset
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and concepts (IFRS, US GAAP, SOX)
Must have strong financial modeling skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivots, Lookups
Strong analytical and communication skills
University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or related discipline.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field, along with a recognized accounting certification or active pursuit of one (such as CA, CMA, CGA, CPA).
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in accounting, with a particular focus on financial reporting, including at least 2 to 4 years of substantial experience in this area.
