Randstad Engineering is seeking an individual just like you to become our Client’s new Technical Director. In this position, you’ll be a key player in managing technical excellence and helping to further strengthen the Company’s foothold in this quickly-growing industry.
Duties and responsibilities include:
• Resolving a variety of complex building envelope issues for institutional and developer clients
• Ensuring that all work produced meets all Quality standards, and maintaining technical excellence throughout the design process
• Mentoring and educating junior staff
• Building and motivating teams
• Developing solid working relationships with existing clients and ensuring their expectations are met, if not exceeded
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• At minimum, an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Architecture (license would be an asset)
• The ability to design a fully-functioning envelope system (controls heat, air, and water; able to accommodate loads and movements; coordinated with structural and MEP design)
• The ability to perform Building Condition Assessments, diagnose failures, and design for repair/remediation
• Experience in client management and development
• Experience in developing detailed proposals and fees
• The ability to support client understanding by communicating complex technical concepts in layman’s terms
