Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for:
- Agile Leadership & Facilitation: Demonstrating a proven ability to lead sprints and working with iterative development methods. Leading and conducting Joint Requirements Planning (JRP) and Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions.
- Architecture & Governance: Applying experience with the Zachman framework and navigating Public Sector Architecture Governance Points and deliverables (contextual and conceptual artifacts).
- Requirements Development: Leading requirements elicitation, elaboration, analysis, specification, and validation. Documenting a wide range of deliverables, including:
- User epics, stories, and themes / Product backlog and sprint plans
- Functional and Non-functional requirements
- Business and System use cases
- Data requirements / models (conceptual / logical)
- Data & Analytics Focus: Gathering analytical requirements and leveraging KPI data. Experience with Data Modelling, Data Analytics works, Ingestion of Data, and Data Pipelines.
- Analysis & Strategy: Conducting feasibility analysis, project scoping, and providing project work estimates. Analyzing and mapping processes/data for current and future states. Developing Business Cases and Report specifications.
- Testing & Support: Defining the integration and user acceptance test plans. Providing support to Development and Test teams, including reviewing test strategy, managing defect logs, and resolving problems/issues.
- Documentation & Tools: Demonstrable skills in documenting all required deliverables and utilizing ministry mandated requirement management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, HP ALM).
Qualifications
Must-Have Experience:
- 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Demonstrated experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies such as waterfall and Agile methods with a proven ability to lead sprints.
- Experience with the Zachman framework, Public Sector Architecture Governance Points and deliverables.
- Experience with Data Modelling and Data Analytics works.
- Experience with Ingestion of Data and Data Pipelines.
- Experience gathering analytical requirements and using KPI data.
- Work experience in investigating, analyzing, and estimating system applications in a large integrated mainframe and mid-tier environment.
- Demonstrable experience with Business Object Oriented Modeling and UML tools and techniques.
- Demonstrable knowledge of Public Sector applications, databases, and systems, including supporting legacy applications and transformation using COTS products (e.g., Oracle Siebel).
Desired Skills (Assets):
- Experience with prototyping tools to deliver high-quality prototypes and mock-ups.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience with HP ALM (Quality Center) to support test activities.
