Are you a designated finance and accounting professional with previous experience in the asset management industry? Have you been responsible for financial analysis and the preparation of periodic reporting? Are you looking for a new opportunity to develop your skills in a leading Canadian organization?

If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Reporting to support our client, a leading Insurance and Professional Services firm, in their Downtown Toronto office. In this role you will work full time hours on an 8 month assignment, and earn a rate competitive within the industry. As a Senior FA - Financial Reporting you will work within the Private Assets Financial Reporting team and be responsible for completing the financial reporting processes and providing analytical support to produce financial reporting and ongoing operations, with a focus on the Real Estate products. This will include but not be limited to:

• Preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting including the financial statements and required regulatory filings
• Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures in compliance with IFRS and / or US GAAP
• Preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages in collaboration with Real Estate Property Accounting and Operation’s team
• Assist with the coordination of the annual audit and work directly with external auditors for the 3rd party real estate funds
• Review and checking accuracy and completeness of information provided by internal operations and reporting teams
• Assist in the preparation of the Board reporting package on a quarterly basis and supporting financial analysis as required
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and new initiatives within the department
• Strong focus on collaboration and relationships with various internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business admin, accounting, and/ or finance; professional accounting or finance designation strongly preferred (CPA, CA, CFA, or equivalent);
• 3-5+ years of related business experience and experience analyzing financial statements;
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures under IFRS and / or US GAAP;
• Excellent ability to communicate both written and verbally;
• Advanced level of proficiency in MS Excel and other MS office tools (e.g. Word and PowerPoint to develop reports, documents and presentations);
• Strong attention to detail and aptitude to learn
• Collaborative and be able to motivate different business units and supporting functions
• Well organized and initiative to perform in a fast paced and challenging environment
• Flexibility to work extra hours as needed while working under tight deadlines
• Experience with Yardi system is considered an asset
• Experience with REITs or REOCs a strong plus
