We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support our client, a leading Canadian bank, in their Downtown Toronto office! In this role you will work full time hours on a 6 month assignment, and earn a rate competitive within the industry. As a Senior Financial Analyst you will be working within their Technology Operations Finance team, responsible for preparing project business cases, supporting project set up, completing journal entries, and ongoing financial planning. Daily responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Prepare financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future earnings or expenses, that summarize and forecast the project’s financial position
• Facilitate presentations and training to partners on project related items
• Complete journal entries
• Conduct variance and cost analysis
• Prepare ad hoc reports and provide ad hoc support as requested by partners
• Direct the project’s budgets to meet financial goals
• Oversee the investment of funds, manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities
• Execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm’s expansion
• Oversee issuance of credit, establishing credit-rating criteria, determining credit ceilings, and monitoring the collections of past-due accounts

• Perform daily control and reconciliation of the source systems to GL to ensure accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve differences between the ledgers and the source systems with P&L groups and source system technical support groups to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly SOX package for review to ensure that all balances are substantiated and reconciled, as well as consistency is maintained globally. Document, maintain and understand on an ongoing basis the various organizational controls (FPC, OPC, and LCM) in order to adhere to regulatory requirements. i.e. SOX walk through, Internal Control Repository updates.
• Validate and agree daily expected funding with DFE team, to GL cash accounting entries (source system) and in conjunction with back office reconciliation of the expected GL to actual settlements clearing via source system/business line suspense org units.
• Complete cash reconciliation and asset reconciliations to ensure that all outstanding issues are investigated and resolved to reduce risk and to produce accurate and timely client reports. Where appropriate ensure daily ticketing process is reconciled to agreed cash balances and changes.
• Establish processes and controls to ensure gathering of data from sources systems, transformation of data, posting and reconciling of data to the general ledger is efficient and effective, including control of daily balance to balance and sub ledger reconciliation.

• 7+ years' experience in an Financial Analysis role
• Very strong Excel skills - Pivot Tables and Vlook up at a minimum, Macros are preferred
• Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with project managers and project stakeholders
• Strong presentation and training skills, with the ability to communicate financial information to non-financial people
• An accounting designation is strongly preferred
• Project finance banking experience is an asset
• PMP training is an asset
• PeopleSoft experience
• Tableau experience
