job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Firmware Engineer to support embedded development of our clients high tech sensor products.


Responsibilities:

- Creates firmware designs for microcontrollers; capable of interfacing with most standard data transfer protocols for communicating with auxiliary hardware: SPI, Serial, CAN, Ethernet and USB
- Experience with industrial 1/0 networks such as EtherCAT preferred
- Works with standard test equipment to troubleshoot and validate proof of concepts
- Works on system engineering projects from design to production.
- Writes applications in C/C++ and/or LabVIEW to verify the hardware/firmware performance.
- Develops various LabView based applications for data acquisition, data logging, and analysis.
- Utilizes best programming practices, in accordance with National Instruments guidelines.
- Manages DAQ hardware and software at workstations throughout the company.
- Experience with JAVA, Python, and other scripting languages is strongly preferred
- Produces software design documentation & operating guides in accordance with company practices
- Experience with reading schematics and datasheets
- Ability to handle aggressive deadlines with agility and results driven approach


Qualifications:

-Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Software Engineering
-5+ years of experience developing in C & C++ with embedded development emphasis
-5+ years of experience working with LabVIEW for data acquisition and logging
-Experience using debugging and diagnostic tools
-Excellent technical, analytical, problem-solving skills, with strong attention to details
-Excellent time management skills and commitment to meet deadlines
