Responsibilities
- Provide support for 6 logistics coordinators in the freight department
- Providing leadership and training for the operations team, as well as handling operations (Ocean and Air) duties when required
- Support development of the team by identifying training requirements and opportunities
- Determine and create strategies for cross-functional team collaboration to increase efficiency
- Maintain client database and be the primary contact for problem solving
- Opening up new client files
- Overseeing all operations, business development, credit decisions, invoicing
- Ensuring accuracy of information
- Working closely with the Vice-President and Director of Sales and Operations
- Office management duties: assist with event planning, hiring, employee reviews, supplies, inventory, organizing meetings, document control, filing, decision making, and other related tasks
Qualifications
- 10-15 years minimum experience in freight forwarding specifically Ocean and Air
- Posses participative leadership skills and effective team player
- Ability to identify and analyze problems, take initiative and decisive actions when needed
- Detail oriented and possess excellent organization skills with the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Bilingualism is a must
- Experience with Cargowise is an asset
- Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics or related program is an asset
