The Technology, Software and Services organization is looking for a highly technical manager to drive its Cloud Services development across consumer products.
You will be a part of the Consumer Solutions business unit that is responsible for consumer products sold worldwide under the brands WD and Sandisk and serve over 350 million customers each year.
Inside the business unit, our organization has a charter to help transform the business through new software experiences, build a consolidated ecosystem of products where content can move freely between devices and cloud services with the goal to increase our active users and generate recurring revenue over time.
In this role, you will lead a geographically distributed team of engineers responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the cloud services that power our customer products.
The ideal candidate for this role has extensive experience architecting and delivering highly scalable, reliable, and cost-effective services to meet product and requirements.
You will focus on growing the team to continuously raise the bar and define best-practices required to achieve quality, security, performance and reliability that are core features of our products and services.
The right candidate must be very comfortable leveraging analytics and statistics to monitor and assess stability and performance and be able to articulate risk tradeoffs to help decide between different solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for cloud services roadmap execution and maintenance
Help improve development and release process to increase team velocities
Close collaboration with DevOps teams to monitor service health and performance
Engage with client and middleware teams to ensure sound architecture across the ecosystem
Develop analytics to monitor and accelerate issue identification and resolution
Ensure quality of team deliverables and set internal process and checkpoints accordingly
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
6+ years working as software engineer with focus on cloud services.
3+ years managing geographically distributed software teams
Experience developing highly scalable solutions
Experience with AWS infrastructure and services is a plus
Hands-on experience building CI/CD
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science required.
Strong analytic skills.
