Responsibilities
Process Enhancement: Identify areas for improvement in powder production milling, powder sorting systems, and transfer systems. Apply engineering principles and innovative thinking to optimize process efficiency and effectiveness.
Equipment Reliability: Lead efforts to enhance overall equipment reliability, ensuring seamless operation. Implement proactive maintenance strategies and analyze equipment failure data to address potential issues.
Project Management: Independently oversee engineering projects related to process optimization and equipment improvement. Develop project plans, establish timelines, allocate resources, and execute projects within defined budgets.
Innovation Solutions: Cultivate an innovative culture by consistently generating and assessing ideas to enhance self-sufficiency and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement inventive solutions to engineering challenges.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all engineering activities align with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with process modifications or equipment upgrades.
Collaborative Teamwork: Collaborate closely with other departments, including Manufacturing, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to effectively accomplish company objectives and meet customer demands.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation, including technical reports, project updates, and engineering designs. Regularly provide progress reports to the Director of Engineering.
Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in mechanical engineering and the manufacturing industry. Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Possession of a P.Eng designation would be advantageous.
A minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally within manufacturing or process engineering, specifically with a focus on powder processing.
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, including pumps, pressure vessels, compressed air systems, heat exchangers, and more.
Demonstrated proficiency in process optimization, equipment reliability, and project management.
Strong command of CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities, underscored by a history of implementing innovative solutions.
Ability to work independently and effectively lead cross-functional teams.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
A hands-on approach coupled with a passion for crafting and constructing solutions.
